Lesson 2: Learning Basic Calculus

​



For every undergrad student, basic calculus is a requirement in almost all of the majors.



The goal of this class is for the students to reach the comprehension on the basics knowledge of calculus.

The main objectives include the following

- To learn the general concept of function and its applications to real-world situations.

- To learn to work with exponential, logarithmic and trigonometric functions and their applications in applied problems.

- To learn the concepts of the derivative and its underlying concepts such as limits and continuity.

- To learn to calculate derivative for various type of functions using definition and rules.

- To apply the concept of derivative to completely analyze graph of a function.

- To learn about various applications of the derivative in applied problems.

- To learn about anti-derivative and the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus and its applications.

- To learn to use concept of integration to evaluate geometric area and solve other applied problems.


For students who require a deeper knowledge of this topic, special classes can be offered.
