Lesson 1: Learning Basic Algebra
For every undergrad student, basic algebra is a requirement in almost all of the majors.
The goal of this class is for students to reach comprehension on the basic knowledge of Algebra.
The main objectives are the following:
To write and evaluate expressions with unknown values and use properties to simplify expressions.
To identify the types of relationships represented by proportions.
To represent functions using multiple representations, such as tables, graphs and equations.
To be able to model real-world situations using functions.
To represent functions using multiple representations, such as tables, graphs and equations.
To use several methods for solving a system of equations or inequalities.
To apply the properties of exponents to simplify expressions.
To add, subtract, multiply and factor polynomials and apply the properties of real numbers to manipulate polynomial expressions.
For students who require a deeper knowledge of this topic, special classes can be offered.

A+ 97–100%
A 93–96%
A- 90–92%
B+ 87–89%

D+ 67–69%

D− 60–62%
F < 60%
The class will be scored with a weight of 60% for the assignments and 40% for the final test.
